"As a little girl I
would sit beside my father for hours as he painted. I would paint with my
own paint by numbers sets. I grew up spending much of my time at outdoor
arts and crafts shows surrounded by my father's friends who painted and made
things. Little did I know that I was learning lessons about color, light
and form that would help me as I began to learn the skills to fabricate stained
glass in the early 80's. In 1985, I discovered contemporary kaleidoscopes.
A new focus and direction which I called Kaleidoscope
Companions emerged in wearable art jewelry. In creating jewelry, I brought
together many years of working with glass, developing kaleidoscopes and
experimenting with light and color. The jewelry is a compilation of many
different inspirations, concepts and techniques which now go well beyond
kaleidoscopes"
